Duncan Maxwell and Moustafa Bayoumy of St. Lawrences mens squash team were selected as the Liberty Leagues performer and rookie of the week, respectively, announced Monday.
Maxwell went 3-0 for the week as the Saints beat Hamilton and Wesleyan and lost to top-ranked Trinity. Bayoumy completed the first undefeated dual meet season in Saint squash history with three wins. He went 6-0 at one and 6-0 at two for the season.
In mens basketball, St. Lawrences Kyle Edwards earned the leagues rookie of the week honors as he averaged 17.5 points and 5.0 assists per game last weekend as the Saints split with Union and RPI. The Norwich native recorded a career-high 21 points against Union. Edwards followed with 14 points against RPI. Jonh Coleman of Clarkson was named to the weeks honor roll as did St. Lawrences Kara McDuffee in womens basketball.
In indoor track and field, Thomas Caufield of St. Lawrence was selected as mens rookie of the week, clocking in 15:03.20 in his collegiate debut in the 5,000 meters.
Divya Biswal of St. Lawrence was named as the leagues field performer of the week, finishing sixth in the triple jump with a mark of 11.88 meters at the BU Valentine Invitational. Her mark ranks her second in Division III nationally. Biswal also ran a season best of 9.37 (ECAC qualifying) in the 60 hurdles.
