REDWOOD—Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies arrested a woman at the Redwood Tavern after she allegedly hit a Theresa woman on the head with a beer bottle.

Tamara L. Streeter, 44, of 680 Route 37, was accused of striking Paula R. Rogers, 40957 Bearup Road, Theresa, during an altercation at 10:18 p.m. Jan. 31.

The arrest record states Ms. Rogers said Ms. Streeter was using profanity and making disparaging remarks to Ms. Rogers, as well as making offensive gestures to her husband, Rupert E. Ms. Rogers said she confronted Ms. Streeter, but made no threat of violence. During this exchange, Ms. Streeter is alleged to have struck Ms. Rogers with the bottle.

Ms. Rogers suffered a bruised and cut on her scalp over her left temple, followed by a brief loss of consciousness. Her injuries required medical attention at River Hospital, Alexandria Bay.

A warrant for Ms. Streeter’s arrest was issued by Alexandria Town Court and she turned herself in at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building, Watertown, on one count of second-degree assault, a class D felony.

She was arraigned in Alexandria Town Court and released on her own recognizance. An order of protection was issued for Ms. Rogers.
