With a bus out of commission, Watertown’s CitiBus service has been forced to reduce its service.

Down to just two buses, an abbreviated schedule was announced Wednesday. A bus will be operating for a 40-minute route from State Street to East Main Street and on Washington Street for 40 minutes.

The north side route will run for 40 minutes, while the Coffeen and Arsenal streets route will be combined. There will be no individual Arsenal Street bus every 40 minutes; all of them will be 80 minutes.

The abbreviated schedule is expected to run for the remainder of the week while CitiBus tries to get another bus in service.

A bus was taken off the road because it needs a new engine, which may cost about $23,000 to $25,000.
