Local pro hockey: Dashers hold off Privateers, 6-4

DANVILLE, Ill. — Ryan Stern notched a pair of third-period goals as the Danville Dashers held off the Watertown Privateers, 6-4, for a Federal Hockey League win on Saturday night at the David S. Palmer Arena.

Ray Tremblay registered two goals and two assists, while Josselin St. Pierre stopped 50 shots for Danville (8-26). Dustin Henning and Jamie Zaleski also added markers for the Dashers, who were facing Privateers for the first time since a wild brawl Jan. 11 at the Watertown Municipal Arena.

Dane Erickson scored a pair of goals and Andrew Harrison handed out three assists for Watertown (14-18), which has lost three straight games. James Gordon and Britt Oulette also added goals for the Privateers.

Watertown continues its road trip with a pair of games at Danville 7:05 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
