DANBURY, Conn. — Ilya Solarev scored a pair of goals, including the game-winner in the final minute, as the Danbury Whalers edged the Watertown Privateers, 3-2, on Sunday in a Federal Hockey League game at Danbury Ice Arena.

Goalie Mike Brown stopped 41 of 43 shots for the Whalers (20-9), who rebounded after being dealt his first his loss of the season in regulation in a 5-1 setback to the Privateers on Saturday.

Mike Henderson also scored for Danbury.

Brent Clarke and Dustin Skinner each scored a goal for Watertown (14-15), which lost for only the second time in its past nine games. Matt Anthony finished with 34 saves for the Privateers.

Watertown continues its eight-game road swing at 7:35 p.m. both Thursday and Friday at Dayton against the Demonz.
