TURIN — Madison Compton recorded 12 kills as the Beaver River volleyball team earned a Frontier League “C-D” Division victory over South Lewis on Wednesday in Turin. Beaver River won 25-18, 25-10, 25-15.

Melissa Hunt recorded seven kills, 15 digs and 11 service points, and Ariel Ortlieb contributed 12 digs and 10 points.

Mallory Mattimore had 13 digs and five kills, and Keanna Proulx had 12 assists for Beaver River (9-3). South Lewis fell to 11-2, 10-2.

WRESTLING

MASSENA 67, CANTON 12

The Red Raiders opened with five straight pins en route to an Northern Athletic Conference win at Massena.

Massena (8-2 overall, 4-1 division) finished with seven overall pins, coming from Skyler Cameron (120 pounds), Alex Denney (126), Michael Brown (132), Gavin Perrine (138), Austin Amo (145), Nolan Terrance (285) and Brian Plourde (133).

Canton (1-4) received pins from Alen Clement (182) and Thomas Lumbard (220).

HOCKEY

NORWOOD-NORFOLK 7, TUPPER LAKE 0

Kaden Pickering scored two goals and assisted on two others to lead the Flyers past Tupper Lake (0-13-1, 0-9-1) in a NAC Division II match in Norfolk.

Austin Cousineau scored two goals with one assist for Norwood-Norfolk (8-3, 6-3). Jeff Mott, Tanner Uppstrom and Bryce Dillon also scored for the Flyers.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

BRUSHTON-MOIRA 52, ST. REGIS FALLS 30

Kirstin Barrett scored 11 points to lead the Panthers (6-4, 6-3) during a NAC East Division game in Brushton.

Madison Greenwood led the Saints (3-5) with 18 points on six 3-pointers.

BOYS BASKETBALL

ST. LAWRENCE 56, NORWOOD-NORFOLK 36

Josh White scored 22 points and made seven steals to help the Larries (2-11) defeat Norwood-Norfolk in a nonleague game in Brasher Falls.

Cody Meacham added 10 points for the Larries. Dustin Fisher’s 18 points led the Flyers (3-11).

SALMON RIVER 40, CHATEAUGAY 36

Antoine Domino tallied 13 points to help the Shamrocks (5-6) beat Chateaugay in a nonleague game in Fort Covington.

Josh Hynes scored 10 points for Salmon River. Seth Young’s 22 points led the Bulldogs (5-5).
