Graduate from basic training: Several north country residents have completed basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. Airmen who completed basic training also earned four credits toward an associate degree in applied science through the Community College of the Air Force.
Air Force Airman Camden A. Durant, son of Patricia and Thomas Durant, Brasher Falls, is a 2010 graduate of St. Lawrence Central School, Brasher Falls.
Air Force Airman 1st Class Amanda E. Eager, daughter of Jeanne Eager, Carthage, and granddaughter of Virginia Eager, Antwerp, is a 2005 graduate of Carthage Central School and a 2009 graduate of SUNY Oswego.

Air Force Airman 1st Class Brittani D. Vance, daughter of Gerald Vance, Fort Drum, is a 2009 graduate of Lakes High School, Lakewood, Wash., and a 2012 graduate of St. Martins University, Fort Lewis, Wash.
Air Force Airman 1st Class Tyler Malley, son of Deanna Bruso, Malone, is a 2010 graduate of Franklin Academy, Malone.
Air Force Airman 1st Class Adam J. Houmiel, son of Jeffrey and Suzanne Houmiel, Ogdensburg, is a 2007 graduate of Lisbon Central School and a 2012 graduate of SUNY Potsdam.
Air Force Airman 1st Class Christopher J. Rosenberger, son of Rita Danielson, Watertown, is a 2009 graduate of Watertown High School.
Winners: Students from 12 north country high schools formed 32 teams and participated in the 10th annual Spaghetti Bridge Building Competition, held Nov. 21 at Jefferson Community College, Watertown. More than 135 students designed, built and tested bridges for durability and weight.
First place, $100 Team Spaghetti Bridge, Colton-Pierrepont Central School, Colton: Coached by Suzanne M. Fiacco, Andrew A. Jenkins, Scott F. Boyce and Sabrina C. Johnson

Honored: Kayla Bedore, Parishville-Hopkinton Central School, Parishville, a student in the health careers program at Seaway Technical Center, Norwood, was named the November BOCES student of the month by the Rotary Club of Potsdam.

Georgetown (Ky.) College
To receive deans list honors at Georgetown College for the fall semester, students must receive a grade point average of 3.7 or higher.

To receive deans list at Hamilton College for the fall semester, students must receive a grade point average of 3.5 higher.
Matthew R. McDonald, son of Reginald and Jennifer McDonald, Potsdam, junior, mathematics and psychology, and graduate of Deerfield (Mass.) Academy.
To receive deans list honors at SUNY Geneseo for the fall semester, students must receive a grade point average between 3.5 and 3.99.

Honored: Joe Timmerman, chairman of the department of business administration at SUNY Potsdam, recently received the Department of Defense Patriot Award for his support of members of the National Guard and Reserve.
Interns: Thomas McCormick, Star Lake, a senior at SUNY Potsdam, interned iat the 2014 National Association of Music Merchants Show, held this month in Anaheim, Calif. Mr. McCormick, who is majoring in business administration, was joined by faculty from SUNY Potsdams Crane School of Music and worked with Samson Technologies.
