CARTHAGE — Peyton McLaurin scored 27 of his career-high 29 points in the first half to help propel Carthage to a 80-57 Frontier League boys basketball crossover victory over Lowville on Friday night.

McLaurin connected for five 3-point goals and recorded seven assists and seven rebounds.

Andrew Smith supplied 17 points, including five 3-pointers, and Walter Jeter added 10 points for Carthage (10-0, 9-0).

Kyle Malik scored 26 points, and Brian O’Connor scored 21 for Lowville (0-10).

INDIAN RIVER 47, GENERAL BROWN 37

Daniel Angelo scored 13 of his 18 points in the first quarter as the Warriors earned a crossover victory over the Lions in Dexter.

Shelton Williams contributed 11 points, eight rebounds and five assists for Indian River (7-3).

Rob Pickeral scored nine points to lead General Brown (3-9).

SOUTH LEWIS 59, COPENHAGEN 42

Matt Mooney recorded a double-double, scoring 19 points and grabbing 11 rebounds, as the Falcons got off to a fast start in a crossover game at Turin.

Jason Martin contributed 18 points, six assists and five steals for South Lewis (8-1, 7-1), which sped to a 28-4 first-quarter lead.

Shawn Loomis added 13 points and six rebounds and Nick Arrigo had five assists for the Falcons.

Antonio Figueroa paced Copenhagen (6-4, 6-3) with 28 points and Greg Kunert added 11.

SANDY CREEK 71, ALEXANDRIA 30

Matt Reese scored 13 points and grabbed 21 rebounds as the Comets raced to a 45-15 halftime lead en route to a crossover win at Sandy Creek.

Zachary Halsey also recorded a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds for Sandy Creek (10-1, 9-1), while Cameron Hall chipped in with 15 points and Tyler Swarthout 12 for the Comets.

Tyler Ayen scored 12 points to lead Alexandria (2-8, 1-8).

THOUSAND ISLANDS 71, LaFARGEVILLE 37

Christian Shaw’s career-high 28 points, including seven 3-pointers, sparked the Vikings to the crossover win at Clayton.

Teddy Ebbing contributed 13 points, 12 rebounds and eight blocked shots for Thousand Islands (7-5, 6-4), and Eli Baldwin scored 10 points.

Matt Valin led LaFargeville (2-10, 2-8) with nine points.

BEAVER RIVER 70, BELLEVILLE HENDERSON 16

Dustin Neddo scored 23 points as the Beavers rolled to a crossover win at Beaver Falls.

Troy Purcell added 12 points and Christian Widrick 10 for Beaver River (3-9, 3-8).

Belleville Henderson is 1-9, 1-8.

POTSDAM 46, CANTON 44

Jack Byrnes scored on a putback with less than a second remaining to lift the Sandstoners to the Northern Athletic Conference Central Division victory at Potsdam.

Dequan Pitts provided 13 points for Potsdam (6-6, 5-4).

Louden Porter recorded 13 points for Canton (5-6, 3-6).

MORRISTOWN 44, HERMON-DEKALB 39 (OT)

Ryan Vollmer contributed 10 points, and Jake VanArnam grabbed 10 rebounds as the Green Rockets earned an overtime victory.

Cody Merritt scored 13 points for Hermon-DeKalb.

HAMMOND 50, CLIFTON-FINE 35

Payton Frisina generated 19 points and Zech Cunningham added 13, leading the Red Devils (4-7, 3-6).

Chase Koster scored 11 for Clifton-Fine (0-10, 0-8).

EDWARDS-KNOX 71, HARRISVILLE 42

Kaden Dandrow scored 32 points to lead the Cougars (7-4, 6-2) past the Pirates (6-5, 4-7), who got 13 points each from Tim Fowler and Brandon Best.

SOUTH JEFFERSON 66, IHC 30

Austin Stevens celebrated her birthday by recording 22 points, nine rebounds and four steals to send the Spartans to a Frontier League crossover victory over the host Cavaliers.

Marissa Garland added 13 points for South Jefferson (8-0).

Anna Garrabrant scored nine points to lead Immaculate Heart Central (2-8, 1-7).

ALEXANDRIA 81, SANDY CREEK 13

Hannah Lynch poured in 21 points to help the Purple Ghosts to a crossover victory at Alexandria Bay.

Lorraine Beard produced 19 points, and Morgan Weaver added 14 points for Alexandria (5-6, 4-4).

Jaime Washburn scored six points for Sandy Creek (0-10, 0-9).

BOYS SWIMMING

LOWVILLE 49, SOUTH LEWIS 30

Seniors Nick Turck, Collin Stewart and Nathan Munger each captured two individual events and contributed to a pair of first-place relays as the Red Raiders clinched the Frontier League “B” Division with a home victory over the Falcons (2-5).

Turck claimed the 50 and 100 freestyles, Stewart won the 200 individual medley and 500 free, and Munger took the 200 free and 100 butterfly for Lowville (7-2).

VOLLEYBALL

CARTHAGE 3, BELLEVILLE HENDERSON 0

Gabbee Park recorded seven kills to help spark the Comets to a 25-7, 25-11, 25-11 Frontier League interdivision victory at Carthage.

Claire Sauter supplied five assists and two aces, and Marissa Ixtlahuac contributed four kills for Carthage (8-3).

Haley Contryman contributed five kills and six assists for Belleville Henderson (2-8).
