CANTON A Gouverneur man was arraigned on an unsealed indictment Thursday afternoon in St. Lawrence County Court for the alleged possession and sale of pharmaceuticals in the village.
Shane A. Blair, 28, of 42 Prospect St., pleaded not guilty to fourth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, both felonies.
According to the grand jury indictment, it is alleged that on June 5 in the village Mr. Blair was in possession of and sold the narcotic preparation buprenorphine, which is used in opioid addiction treatment.
County Judge Jerome J. Richards sent Mr. Blair back to St. Lawrence County jail, where he is being held without bail.
In other grand jury action Thursday:
Michael F. Danson, aka Michael F. Danson-Gotham, 40, of 3626 County Route 14, Madrid, is charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated and two counts of driving while intoxicated, all felonies.
It is alleged that on June 25, 2012, on Campbell Road, Waddington, Mr. Danson operated a 2000 Chevrolet while under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol content of 0.24 percent.
Under state law, a BAC of 0.08 percent or more is considered proof of intoxication. Aggravated DWI is charged when the BAC is 0.18 percent or higher.
Gary J. Sharlow, 30, of 2539 County Route 28, Madrid, is charged with two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, a felony.
It is alleged that he forged an official New York state prescription for suboxone on March 24 in Ogdensburg and April 9 in the village of Massena.
