A 50-year-old Mannsville man was injured Tuesday when his pickup truck rolled several times as a result of him trying to avoid a deer in the roadway, the Oneida County Sheriffs Department said.
Charles J. Nohle, 50, was driving his 1999 Ford pickup truck north on Route 13 in the town of Camden at 9:53 p.m. Tuesday when the deer crossed his path.
Deputies said Mr. Nohle attempted to avoid the deer, causing his truck to slide and strike a snowbank. The truck flipped several times before coming to rest in a small field.
The Camden Fire Department and state police, as well as the county sheriffs office, responded to the scene. Mr. Nohle suffered injuries to his head and right leg. He was taken via Camden Ambulance to St. Elizabeths Hospital, Utica. The hospital manager said he was later released.
