CORTLAND — Tom DiCamillo will take over as State University of New York Athletic Conference commissioner on Jan. 27, the conference announced Monday.

DiCamillo replaces Brian Williams, the associate director of athletics at SUNY New Paltz, who served as interim commissioner since last July. Williams filled in for Lowville native Azure Davey, who ad left her post as SUNYAC’s second commissioner after one year. Davey had succeeded founding commissioner Patrick Damore, who held the job for 33 years.

DiCamillo most recently has worked as assistant commissioner of the NCAA Division II Pacific West Conference and executive director of public relations for Central Arizona College. He has worked in both jobs since 2006.

DiCamillo will run the conference office and represent the conference in all administration matters.
