SYRACUSE — Syracuse University senior Jay Bromley accepted an invitation this week to play in the 89th annual East-West Shrine Game, scheduled for Jan. 18 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla.

The defensive tackle recorded 10 sacks this season, the most for an SU interior lineman since 1987. He forced three fumbles and finished with 42 tackles, helping the Orange rank 14th nationally in third-down defense and 18th in tackles for loss.

n SU freshman Brisly Estime was named to ESPN’s All-Bowl Team on Thursday. Estime returned a punt 70 yards to set up Terrel Hunt’s game-winning touchdown with one minute, 44 seconds left in SU’s 21-17 victory over Minnesota in the Texas Bowl.

Center Macky MacPherson and linebacker Cameron Lynch were named to the ACC’s All-Bowl Team.
