DRYDEN Jefferson Community College fell behind by 10 points at halftime and dropped a 91-76 decision to host Tompkins-Cortland CC in the Cannoneers Mid-State Athletic Conference mens opener on Thursday.
Dustin Pond scored 23 points and Caleb Green added 20, making six 3-pointers, for JCC (4-7, 0-1). Kenny Thomas also scored 16 points.
Devin Redden led TCCC (6-5, 1-0) with 24 points and Laszlo Hajnoczi netted 22 points.
n Jasmine Canady poured in a season-high 30 points and distributed eight assists and Alyssa Crosby scored 27 points as the visiting JCC womens basketball team rolled to an 85-59 victory over Tompkins-Cortland CC in the Mid-State Athletic Conference season opener for both teams at Dryden.
Kathleen Coloney chipped in 12 points for the Cannoneers (9-2, 1-0) and Amanda Roberts generated 12 assists.
Jenna Bowman and Ruthanne Forehand each scored 13 points for the Panthers (2-7, 0-1).
