COLTON - The familiar town logo of Colton that depicts the town hall may soon be disappearing.

Colton town officials are in discussions with local school officials regarding a possible update to the town’s logo.

Town Supervisor Dennis B. Bulger informed the board at their most recent meeting of potential plans for the logo’s future.

He has been working with Colton Tourism and Beautification Chairwoman Ruth McWilliams.

“We’re going to have a meeting, Ruth and I with Krystal Stowe, the art director at Colton-Pierrepont and try to come up with some ideas. Maybe we’ll even have a little contest and get the kids involved,” Mr. Bulger said. “On our letterhead right now, what we have is a picture of (town hall.) Is that what we want to stay with? Maybe that’s what we’ll end up with.”

Mr. Bulger noted that there have also been discussions with Clarkson University about the logo.

“There’s a young fellow down at Clarkson that’s sponsored by Clarkson and he’s from one of those startup businesses that will for around $149 work with us on this and give us as many iterations as we want and he’s just waiting on some feedback from us,” he said.

“So we will get a chance to meet with the art director (at CPCS) and maybe come up with some ideas on how we want to do it and maybe get it out to the community and get some feedback from them,” he added.
