LOWELL, Mass. — Joseph Pendenza scored midway through the third period to give UMass-Lowell a 4-3 win over Clarkson in a nonconference men’s hockey game before 4,649 at the Tsongas Center on Saturday afternoon.

Clarkson (12-6-2) had an early 2-0 lead off goals from A.J. Fossen and Matt Zarbo in the first 5 minutes, 39 seconds of the game. But the River Hawks (14-5-1) scored three straight goals to take a 3-2 lead.

Sam Labrecque also scored for Clarkson. Scott Wilson, Ryan McGrath and Chris Maniccia scored the other goals for UMass-Lowell.
