I felt compelled to comment publicly regarding the exemplary response during the recent ice storm by all the folks from National Grid and the numerous tree crews that supported their efforts.
The coordination of necessary resources in and of itself was a daunting task.
These men and women went above and beyond, doing whatever was necessary to restore power to the affected communities as quickly and safely as humanly possible. They were away from their own families during the holiday season, doing whatever they could to help others.
While I realize this is a recognized and accepted part of their jobs, they went about their work in a professional and caring manner.
Were all very quick to complain about the inconveniences in our lives, but I never heard a complaint from one of these folks, and I had the privilege of speaking with a number of them.
If you havent taken the opportunity to say thank you to one or more of these great people, please take the time to do so.
Thanks to all, we are indeed fortunate to have you!
