MASSENA With two new businesses slated to open in the Harte Haven Shopping Center, the plaza again will be at 100 percent capacity for the first time since Fashion Bug closed nearly a year ago.
To be able to get back to 100 percent with such high-quality tenants in such a short period of time is a testament to the strength of the Harte Haven Shopping Center, plaza owner Michael Wachs said.
The first of the businesses to open will be Zoom Tan, a chain of tanning salons with locations in Florida and New York.
Mr. Wachs said this will be the fourth Zoom Tan store to open in one of his shopping centers.
They have an incredible presence in New York state, Mr. Wachs said. Theyre building a beautiful store.
According to the chainss website, Zoom Tan offers walk-in tanning in stand-up beds, with spray tanning also available.
The chain operates more than 50 salons in the state, with more than 20 additional salons expected to open in the near future.
Zoom Tan will open in the space formerly occupied by H&R Block.
Also opening in the plaza, in late February, is Rue 21.
Mr. Wachs said Rue 21 will open in the space formerly occupied by Fashion Bug and bring a store to the plaza that focuses on fashion for teenagers and young men and women.
They have over 1,000 stores in America, Mr. Wachs said. There is nothing like that in the Harte Haven Shopping Center.
Mr. Wachs said construction on the store is expected to begin next week and continue through January and February before the stores grand opening.
The additions, Mr. Wachs said, make the plaza one-stop shopping. With restaurants, a movie theater, a grocery store and several other retail shops, he said, there is something for everyone at Harte Haven.
