Canton Central’s Laura Pierce (left) placed second behind Norwood-Norfolk sophomore Kaycie Saucier at the 2013 NAC Championship Meet held at the SUNY Canton cross country course in November. With their efforts, they earned a chance to compete at the New York State Federation Meet staged on November 16 in Wappinger Falls where Saucier placed 68th overall out of a field of 255 competitors with her time of 20:05.5. The winning time in the girls race as 18:16.2. Pierce, a Lisbon Central senior, opted not to participate in the Federation Meet in order to concentrate her training efforts on competing at a national regional amateur meet slated for the following weekend.
