Former Evans Mills Speedway track champion Tom Boucher died Dec. 9 after a long battle with cancer. He was 75.

The Ottawa native drove cars for several owners at the north country track and was a champion at both Evans Mills and Ottawa. He was later inducted into the Capital City Hall of Fame.

A Celebration of Life for Boucher will be at the Carleton Place Legion in Ottawa on Jan. 11.

Boucher is survived by his wife, Bridget, two daughters and a step daughter.
