BURLINGTON, Vt. Michael Paliotta and H.T. Lenz each tallied a goal and an assist to spark the University of Vermont past St. Lawrence University, 5-1, on Saturday night in a nonconference mens hockey game at Gutterson Fieldhouse.
Greg Carey scored the lone goal for the Saints (8-9-2), who were dealt their fourth consecutive loss and slipped below the .500 mark for the first time this season.
Goalie Brody Hoffman stopped 21 of 22 shots for the Catamounts (8-5-1).
Freshman netminder Tyler Parks made 18 saves on 22 shots for St. Lawrence as he was dealt his first collegiate loss in three starts.
The game was the last before both teams holiday breaks, and each squad returns to action with Vermont playing at St. Lawrence on Tuesday, Jan. 7 at 7 p.m.
