POTSDAM — Nathan Smoke and Sean David scored goals early in the third period to give the Salmon River hockey team a 5-4 win over Potsdam in an Northern Athletic Conference Division I game on Wednesday at SUNY Potsdam.

Potsdam (1-2 overall, 0-1 division) had led 4-3 heading into the third period.

Smoke scored 1 minute, 46 seconds in to tie the game, and David scored the winning goal for the Shamrocks (2-2-1, 1-0) at 2:28.

Tyren Boots, Tye Terrance and Kyle Lewis also scored for Salmon River.

Corson Green scored three goals for the Sandstoners and Logan Ford also scored.

NORWOOD-NORFOLK 6, MALONE 3

Austin Cousineau scored two goals with two assists to lead Norwood-Norfolk (3-0, 2-0) past the Huskies in a Division II game in Malone.

Coby Munson also scored twice for the Flyers.

Kaden Pickering and Zeb Brown each scored one goal and assisted on three.

Kyler Head, Josh Tremblay and Jake Henning scored for the Huskies (2-1).

MASSENA 4, ISLANDERS 0

Connor Paquin stopped 12 shots to lead Massena past the Islanders (1-2) in an interdivision game in Alexandria Bay.

Dylan Stone, Tyler Young, Dalton Mullin and Patrick Manning scored for the Red Raiders (2-2, 2-0).

GIRLS BASKETBALL

HERMON-DEKALB 54, MORRISTOWN 18

Hunter Hitchman scored 17 points to help Hermon-DeKalb to a win over the Green Rockets (2-2, 1-1) in a West Division contest in Morristown.

Courtney Harrington scored 16 points and added seven rebounds for the Demons (2-0).

ALEXANDRIA 58, LAFARGEVILLE 29

Morgan Weaver finished with 14 points and 16 rebounds during the Purple Ghosts’ Frontier League “D” Division victory over the Red Knights at Alexandria Bay.

Hannah Lynch provided 14 points and eight steals for Alexandria (2-2, 2-1).

Amber Klock scored 10 points for LaFargeville (0-6, 0-3).
