LOWVILLE The Lewis County Chamber of Commerce is seeking volunteers to help sell newspapers as part of an extension of Old Newsboys Day into Lowville.
Anyone interested in working one-hour or two-hour shifts at one of a few locations around the village is asked to call the chamber office at 376-2213 or send an email to email@example.com.
The 67th annual Old Newsboys Day, one of the Salvation Armys largest fundraisers, is set for Friday. Sponsored by the Watertown Daily Times, participants have historically sold copies of the newspaper in Watertown for anywhere from 75 cents to hundreds of dollars.
This year, plans are to expand the event into Lewis County, with volunteers selling both the Times and the Journal & Republican to benefit the Salvation Army.
