DANBURY, Conn. — The Danbury Whalers used a four-goal third period as it pulled away from the Watertown Privateers, 7-2, in a Federal Hockey League game Wednesday night at the Danbury Arena.

Matt Caranci led Danbury (7-0-1) with two goals and an assist, while Brad Barber and Cody Ayers each tallied a goal and two assists. Mike Brown stopped 34 shots for the Whalers.

James Gordon scored both goals for Watertown (3-5-0).

The Privateers return home to face the Danville Dashers at 7:35 tonight at Watertown Municipal Ice Arena.
