ROCHESTER Patrick Doherty tallied a goal and an assist, including the game-winning goal 1 minute, 12 seconds into the third period as the St. Lawrence University mens hockey team beat Rochester Institute of Technology, 5-3, in a nonconference game Friday at the Frank L. Ritter Memorial Arena.
The Saints (7-4-2) scored three times on the power play as they rallied after falling behind 1-0 just 58 seconds into the game on a Todd Skirving goal for the Tigers (1-7-2).
Jeremy Wick, Brian Ward and Gavin Bayreuther each scored their fourth goal of the season for St. Lawrence, while Tyler Parks stopped 22 shots for his second win on the season. Alexander Dahl provided the other goal for SLU.
Dan Schuler scored a power-play marker for RITs other goal, and Jordan Ruby made 20 saves.
