POTSDAM — Village police charged Ryan E. Kelly, 20, Rensselaer Falls, with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell at 1:22 a.m. Thursday after he allegedly was found in possession of 80 dosage units of LSD during a traffic stop on Sandstone Drive.

He also was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and making an improper right turn.

Police said they made a traffic stop after they observed him make an improper right turn at the intersection of Market Street and Sandstone Drive. They said his operating privileges had been suspended previously.

Further investigation resulted in the drug charges after Mr. Kelly was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana and the LSD, police said. They said the LSD had a street value of approximately $1,200.

He was arraigned in Village Court and released under probation supervision.
