POTSDAM — Bailey Weigel, Hannah Kmiecinski and Jessica Kouzan each scored 12 points to lead a balanced attack as the SUNY Potsdam women’s basketball team routed SUNY Canton, 79-42, in a nonconference game Tuesday at Maxcy Hall.

Katie LaVoie added 10 points off the bench for the Bears (2-0 overall).

Former Carthage standout Joelle Percy led all scorers with 15 points for the Kangaroos (1-2).

CLARKSON 73, CAZENOVIA 58

Cara Manfredi registered 18 points, including 14 from the free throw line, as the Golden Knights got past the Wildcats in nonconference play at Cazenovia.

Stephanie Grobe chipped in with 17 points and five rebounds for Clarkson (2-1).

Erin O’Malley was the game’s high scorer with 22 points for Cazenovia (0-2).

SUNY PLATTSBURGH 85, ST. LAWRENCE 59

Kathleen Payne poured in 27 points as the Cardinals pulled away in the second half to beat the Saints in a nonconference game at Plattsburgh.

Malone’s Brittany Marshall supplied 14 points for SUNY Plattsburgh (1-2), which scored 52 points in the second half after being tied at halftime.

Kelly Legg netted 14 points for St. Lawrence (1-2).

MEN’S BASKETBALL

SUNY PLATTSBURGH 82, ST. LAWRENCE 69

John Perez posted a double-double of 19 points and 14 rebounds as the Cardinals downed the Saints in a nonconference matchup at Plattsburgh.

Chris Manning generated 16 points for SUNY Plattsburgh (2-1).

Brady Condlin and Kyle Kobis each scored 15 points for St. Lawrence (1-2).

VOLLEYBALL

CLARKSON TO PLAY CAL LUTHERAN

Clarkson will take on Cal Lutheran at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division III Tournament at Holland, Mich.

The Regals are the No. 3 seed with a 30-1 record and beat Trinity (Texas) 16-25, 25-18, 25-22, 25-23 in the third round. The winner will face the winner of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and Hope on Friday.

Clarkson senior Xiao Liang was announced as an AVCA second-team All-American, while classmates Erika Chin and Lani Durio were honorable mentions.

MEN’S HOCKEY

STONEHILL 6, SUNY CANTON 2

Richard Harris notched a pair of goals as the Skyhawks used a five-goal second period beat the Kangaroos in Canton.

Bryan Rooney and Bill Carey each recorded a goal and an assist for Stonehill (3-2-0).

Cory Giczewski and Vance Bridgman scored for SUNY Canton (1-5-1).

WOMEN’S HOCKEY

HAMILTON 5, SUNY POTSDAM 2

Stephanie Lang scored twice in the third period as the Continentals defeated the Bears in a nonconference game in Clinton.

Hannah Jaiven, Gigi Fraser and Ianthe Lekometros also tallied for Hamilton (1-2-0).

Brittany Lucky and Jordan Ott recorded goals for SUNY Potsdam (2-4-1).
