SYRACUSE Syracuse University football cornerback Julian Whigham is back in Syracuse after being taken to the hospital on Saturday following an injury against Florida State.
Whigham suffered a lung contusion and tearing of scar tissue after colliding with teammate Jerami Wilkes on a 6-yard touchdown catch by the Seminoles Rashad Greene.
Whigham has a prior surgical history for achalasia, an esophageal disorder.
His status for the rest of the season will be evaluated.
