Funeral services for Electa A. Davis, age 89 formerly of Hammond will be held 11:00am Tuesday (Nov 19, 2013) at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Pastor David Sheppard & Reverend Jay Seymour co-officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Fairview Cemetery in Hammond.

Calling hours will be held on Monday from 3:00-7:00pm at the funeral home. Mrs. Davis passed away Friday (Nov 15, 2013) surrounded by her loving family and caregivers.

Surviving are her children & their spouses; Dale & Mary Davis of Syracuse, Earl “Joe” Davis Jr. of Hammond, Lawrence & Sally Davis of Philadelphia, NY, Thomas & Cathy Davis of Hammond, Gary & Carol David of Hammond, Loren Davis of Granger land, TX, Shawn Davis of Conroe, TX, Colleen & Isaac Davis of Hammond & Rebecca & Bruce Stewart of Hammond; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews & cousins.

Electa was predeceased by her husband Earl in 1997; six brothers Albert, Bernard, Gilbert, Lawrence, Arthur & Donald Besaw and four sisters Beulah Barton, Elizabeth “Betty” Butler, Louise LeGrow & Irene LaBrake.

She was born on January 13, 1924 in Massena, NY a daughter of the late Frank & Agnes (LaBarge) Besaw. She attended school in Massena and married Earl I. Davis on March 3, 1946 at the Sacred Heart Church in Massena. Electa co-owned and operated dairy farms in Massena and Hammond with her husband until their retirement in 1978. She was also a member of the St. John’s Evangelist Church in Morristown and enjoyed painting, plastic canvas crafts, listening to country music, collecting dolls, visiting the winery, dancing and spending time with her family.
