LOUISVILLE - Massena-based state police have arrested a Louisville teen for charges connected to their investigation of the repeated drugging and raping of a teen girl.
Charged yesterday was Joseph D. Mitchell, 18, of Louisville.
Mitchell was charged with sexual misconduct, endangering the welfare of a child and criminal injection of a narcotic drug.
Troopers allege that Mitchell injected a 16-year-old girl, who was an acquaintance of his, with heroin on Nov. 11 prior to engaging in a sexual act with her.
He was arraigned in Louisville Town Court before Justice Michael J. LeCuyer and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility on $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond.
Troopers said Mitchells arrest comes in connection to an investigation into a series of incidents alleged to have happened at the home of Zachary D. McGregor, 25, of 259 county Route 53, Lot 53, as well as other homes in the area.
McGregor was charged on Tuesday.
He was charged with third-degree rape, third-degree criminal sexual act, endangering the welfare of a child, and two counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance to a child.
Troopers allege McGregor was providing heroin, as well as other narcotic drugs, to a 16-year-old girl on several occasions starting last month. He also allegedly engaged in sexual acts with a 16-year-old girl several times during this same period of time.
McGregor was also arraigned in Louisville Town Court before Mr. LeCuyer. He too was sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility on $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond.
