Watertown town officials will continue efforts on Thursday night to get property owners to sign petitions for the planned northeast water district.
They will meet at 7 p.m. in the Town Hall, 22867 County Route 67, to discuss the project.
The water district can proceed only if 51 percent of affected property owners sign a petition supporting it.
Two weeks ago, town officials began the petition-signing process when they held the first session.
Supervisor Joel R. Bartlett will be on hand to sign up residents for the project.
If the 51 percent threshold is not met initially, the town may use a mailing or go door-to-door to ask residents to sign up for the water district.
Once the petition process is completed, final design work will start. The project is slated for next year.
