Clarkson (9-2-1 overall, 3-1 ECAC Hockey) is off to its best start since the 1991-92 season and is ranked 11th nationally as it heads into its conference home-opening weekend against Cornell (3-2-1, 1-2-1) and Colgate (4-6-1, 2-2).
A key factor in Clarkson's success has been the team's 6-0-1 record so far in games decided by one goal or less, including both of last weekend's victories.
Ben Sexton scored the game-winner in a 3-2 victory at Dartmouth on Friday as Clarkson recovered from blowing a two-goal lead.
On Saturday it was another senior, Allan McPherson, who came up big, scoring a power-play goal with two minutes remaining to give the Golden Knights a 2-1 win at Harvard.
This week's report also features freshman defenseman James de Haas, who scored the first goal against Harvard and assisted on McPherson's game-winner.

Clarkson coach Casey Jones also talks about the team's performance in close games this year as well as giving a look ahead to this weekend's games and his past relationship with Cornell coach Mike Schafer as a former member of the Big Red staff.
