LOWVILLE - Glenfred F. Marolf, 83, beloved father, husband and grandfather, passed away early Sunday morning, November 10, 2013 at Lewis County General Hospital.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc. with Matt Zehr, Pastor of Abundant Life Fellowship, Lowville, officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Riverside Cemetery (Upper Cemetery), Beaver Falls. Calling hours are from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the Lowville Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 81, Lowville, NY 13367; or to Lewis County General Hospital Dialysis Unit, 7785 N. State St., Lowville, NY 13367.

He is survived by his wife of over 59 years, Vada; seven children and their spouses, Michael and Sue Marolf of Croton, NY; Mitchell and Karol Marolf of Massena; Vicki and John Perricone of Endwell, NY; Valerie Halpin of Dexter; Jeffrey and Rose Marolf of Copenhagen; Timothy and Taleel Marolf of Hurricane, UT; Jody and Julie Marolf of Palm Coast, FL; a brother, William Marolf of Beaver Falls; eighteen grandchildren, four step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Marolf is also survived by a dear friend, Julius Lehosky. He was predeceased by four sisters, Joyce Blair, Beulah Duffer, Francis Knight, and Eleanor Marolf; and three brothers, Harry Marolf, Herbert Marolf, and Gordon Marolf. He is also predeceased by a step grandson, Tyler R. Gentry.

Glen was born on December 17, 1929 in Beaver Falls, A son of the late Fred and Belva Hutchins Marolf.He attended Beaver Falls High School, and received his diploma with serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Mr. Marolf was a member of the 7th Division Headquarters Battery Unit, and received his honorable discharge in 1952. On June 27, 1954, he married the former Vada Fuhrken of Carthage in the rectory of First Methodist Church in Lowville, with Rev. Thomas Williams officiating. Glen worked for the J.P. Lewis Paper Mill for 25 years, before going to work for Kraft Foods, retiring in 1994, after 24 years of service. Mr. Marolf was a member B.P.O.E #1605, Lowville Elks Lodge, and a lifetime member of Lewis County Memorial Post #6912, VFW. He bowled for the Marolf and Payne and Jones bowling teams for many years.

Mr. Marolf was an avid hunter, bowler and horse shoe player. He loved hunting with his sons, and his special friend, Julius Lehosky.
