POTSDAM - Sean Baker, a former St. Lawrence County firefighter who now works as an Aircraft Life Support Technician in Saudi Arabia, made a $350 donation and pledges more in support of the proposed St. Lawrence County Fire Training Center.
I got my start in emergency services right here at the George E. Briggs, St. Lawrence County Fire Training Center, and want to show my support for training and give a little back to the place that helped start his career, Mr Baker said.
Mr. Baker returned to St. Lawrence County while on vacation during the month of September and visited the center during construction of a portion of the live burn building project.
The donation will go toward the $450,000 projected cost of a new Live Fire Burn Simulator at the St Lawrence Co Fire Training Facility, Blanchard Road.
With the donation, Mr. Baker becomes an active stake holder in securing a place for county firefighters to train. The committee extends sincere thanks for the generous gift in support of this vital project that benefits the volunteer fire service of St. Lawrence County.
Anyone interested in making a donation towards the project may send their donations to Dan Basford, Treasurer, P.O. Box 391 Heuvelton, NY, 13665-0391.
