MARTINSBURG — Two men were arrested by Lewis County sheriff’s deputies Monday following an investigation into damage of a farmer’s field that took place Oct. 28.

Joshua J. Houppert, 25, Glenfield, is accused of driving his vehicle through a field of winter rye at Marks Farm. He was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief and trespassing, according to deputies.

A passenger in the vehicle, Danny T. Gudridge Jr., 27, Lowville, also was charged with trespassing.

Approximately $3,000 worth of damage was reported by the property owner, according to Undersheriff James M. Monnat.

Both men were issued appearance tickets for Martinsburg Town Court.
