Massena Central downed St. Lawrence Central 54-40- and Potsdam Central downed Edwards-Knox 96-73 in NAC varsity girls swim meets on Tuesday.
Massena 54, SLC 40: In a Division I matchup at Brasher Falls, the Lady Raiders scored wins in all but three events led by Baylee Carroll who paced both the 50 freestyle in 28.32 and the 100 freestyle in 1:01.55. Also placing first were Sydney Lewis in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:20.41, Abby Elman in the 200IM with a time of 2:44.15, Emily Hurlbut in the 500 freestyle with a time of 6:05.37 and Allison Dix in the 100 backstroke with a time of1:13.03.
The quartet of Lewis, Carroll, Hurlbut and Savannah Hays combined to lead the 200 freestyle relay in 1:54.37. Lewis and Hurlbut also teamed up with Taylor Brault and Kalie Peets to capture the 400 freestyle relay in 4:19.11.
Hailey Arquiett claimed the 100 butterfly in 1:15.67 and Alex Craft led the 100 breaststroke in 1:21.09 to account for the two individual wins posted by the Lady Larries. They also combined with Taylor Capozzi and Madee Derouchie to open the meet by capturing the 200 medley relay in 2:10.51.
Potsdam 96, E-K 73: In a Division II matchup in Russell, the visiting Lady Sandstoners placed first in all but two races.
Emma Kroll (200IM, 100 freestyle) and Kathryn Blanchard (50 freestyle, 100 backstroke) anchored the Potsdam scoring with two wins each. Also contibuted solo firsts were Marissa Brown in the 100 butterfly and Ari Frascatore in the 500 freestyle.
The team of Blanchard, Brown, Alexis Peterson and Cristy Stoian won the 200 medley relay. Stoian, Kroll, Brown and Frascatore combined to pace the 200 freestyle relay. Kroll and Frascatore later teamed up with Kelsey Sixberry and Amanda Dillon to capture the 400 freestyle relay.
Cheyenne Schwartfigure (200 freestyle) and Catherine Curley (100 breaststroke) logged the two E-K wins.
