Five facing charges of DWI; man accused of having pot

The following were charged with driving with intoxicated and related offenses:

n Jessica U. Redmore, 23, 2581 Crowner Road, Carthage, was issued an appearance ticket by state police for DWI, first offense, at 5:12 a.m. Saturday in the town of Wilna. Her blood alcohol content was not available. She additionally was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.

n Christina A. McCullouch, 37, Old Orchard Beach, Maine, was charged with DWI, first offense, at 2:44 a.m. Saturday in the town of Diana by state police. Her blood alcohol content was not available. She additionally was charged with failure to keep right on a two lane road and released to a third party.

n Kathyann J. Pechey, 30, 318 S. Hamilton St., Apt. 2, was arrested at 2:25 a.m. Saturday by city police at 500 Burdick St. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol and disobeying a stop sign. At the public safety building, her BAC was registered at 0.06 percent. A BAC of 0.08 percent or more is considered proof of intoxication under state law. She was processed and released and ordered to appear in City Court at a later date.

n Tyler S. Bates, 22, of 156 Little Bow Road, Gouverneur, was charged by Gouverneur Village Police with aggravated driving while intoxicated early Saturday morning.

Police said Mr. Bates was stopped on Depot Street in Gouverneur for an unsafe start, not using a turn signal and inappropriate speed.

Police said Mr. Bates also was in possession of marijuana and a smoking pipe.

An aggravated DWI charge is lodged when the BAC is 0.18 percent or higher.

n Kody J. Hanna, 20, of 1259 County Route 49, Winthrop, was charged by state police early Saturday morning.

Police said Mr. Hanna was driving south on County Route 49 in Stockholm when he exited the west shoulder and rolled his vehicle over.

Police said Mr. Hanna told them that he swerved to avoid a deer.

Mr. Hanna’s blood alcohol content was 0.08 percent.
