MASSENA Members of the Greater Massena Chamber of Commerces board of directors have approved the job description for the director position.
Board President Miriam S. Catapano said the job opening has been advertised in local media outlets, as well as the Seaway Help Wanted website.
Board members are looking for someone who will be responsible for leadership and management, fundraising and communications and general tasks.
The new director will work to expand local revenue-generation to support existing programs, visit members to garner sponsorships and improve communications, from the chambers Web presence to external relations.
The salary has yet to be determined.
Chamber Associate Director Penny M. Pullmain said the chamber has five people who have expressed interest and are waiting for a copy of the job description.
Now that it has a job description in place, Ms. Catapano said, the board can begin reviewing resumes and set interviews for the position, which has been vacant since the firing of former Executive Director Michael J. Gleason in July.
