Andrew Marilley recorded personal bests in five out of the six events he competed in during the Canadian/American Challenge last weekend at Erie Community College in Buffalo.
Marilley, a Watertown High School freshman, finished third in the 200-yard butterfly and fourth in both the 200 individual medley and 200 breaststroke for ages 13 and over. He was fifth in the 200 backstroke and sixth in the 400 IM. He swam PRs in all his races except the 100 free, in which he finished eighth.
Marilley now competes for the Camillus Swim Club, which is coached by former Watertown standout Scott Wisner. Marilley previously swam for Fort Drum Swim Strong Aquatic Club and then became an independent swimmer following his recovery from a serious swimming accident in April at the Fort Drum pool.
Marilley, who turns 15 on Thursday, is scheduled to swim in his next USA Swimming meet on Sunday at Mexico.
