MASSENA - A 59-year-old Massena woman was transported to Massena Memorial Hospital with a complaint of back pain following a two-vehicle accident at 4:06 p.m. Tuesday on Main Street in Massena. Village police said Rebecca Rose Adams, 42, of 49 1/2 Maple St., Lot 10, Massena, was northbound on Main Street when she said she briefly looked away from the road and struck a vehicle operated by Betty J. Pepe, 59, of Massena that had stopped in the roadway. Ms. Pepe told police she stopped because she thought someone was going to cross the street. Ms. Pepe was taken to Massena Memorial Hospital by Massena Rescue. Adams was ticketed for following too closely.
