CHATEAUGAY — Kaden Pickering delivered an unassisted goal in the fifth minute as the Madrid-Waddington boys soccer team defeated Chateaugay, 1-0, to move into first place in the Northern Athletic Conference East Division on Friday afternoon.

T.J. Gagnon fielded two shots for the Yellowjackets (11-1-2 overall, 10-0-2 league), which now leads by three points with only two games left for each team.

Jason Trombley made two saves for the Bulldogs (10-3-1, 9-2-1).

PARISHVILLE-HOPKINTON 3, BRUSHTON-MOIRA 0

Preston Frank netted two goals as Parishville-Hopkinton blanked Brushton-Moira (1-8-3) in an NAC East game in Brushton.

Lucas Snell converted a penalty kick for Parishville-Hopkinton (9-2-3, 7-2-3).

OFA 5, GOUVERNEUR 0

Dillon Binion scored twice as the Blue Devils shut out the Wildcats in an NAC Central Division game at Gouverneur.

Matt Piercey collected a goal and two assists for Ogdensburg Free Academy (10-1-2, 8-0-2).

Gouverneur dropped to 0-13-1, 0-10.

CANTON 4, SALMON RIVER 0

Francesco Palumbo led the Bears with a goal and an assist as they blanked the Shamrocks in an NAC Central game at Canton.

Josh Huaitt, Matt Mende and Cody Moore also added goals for Canton ((10-2-1, 8-1-1).

Zach Smith made 15 saves for Salmon River (4-9, 3-7).

POTSDAM 3, MALONE 2

Ian Vitek’s goal in the 54th minute helped the Sandstoners rally past the Huskies for an NAC Central victory in Malone.

Ebuka Ononeye paced Potsdam (9-5, 6-4) with two goals.

Isai Paredones and Daniel Badgley registered goals for Malone (8-5-1, 6-4-1).

ST. REGIS FALLS 4, ST. LAWRENCE 3

Brandon Votra netted a hat trick as the Saints held off the Larries in an NAC East Division game at Brasher Falls.

Louis Goodrow provided a goal and an assist for St.Regis Falls (4-7-1).

Kody Kocsis paced St. Lawrence Central (1-11-1, 1-10-1).

NORWOOD-NORFOLK 1, COLTON-PIERREPONT 0

Ian St. Andrews scored in the first half to lift the Flyers to an NAC East victory at South Colton. Garrett Waite posted six saves for Norwood-Norfolk (7-6-1, 6-5-1).

Bruce Avery stopped three shots for Colton-Pierrepont (3-9-2, 3-7-2).

HAMMOND 4, HEUVELTON 3

Alex Folkesson’s hat trick helped the Red Devils get off to a fast start in its NAC West Division win in Hammond.

Brock Tulley supplied the other goal for Hammond (4-9-1, 4-7-1).

Lucas Brown, Joe McDonell and Noah Steele each scored for Heuvelton (4-8-2, 3-7-2).

LISBON 3, EDWARDS-KNOX 1

Adam Kelley paced the Golden Knights with a goal and two assists in a West Division win at Russell. Jonas Janini and Jake Putney added goals for Lisbon (11-2-1, 10-1-1).

Hunter Tuttle scored for Edwards-Knox (6-6-1, 5-6).

MORRISTOWN 4, CLIFTON-FINE 0

Ryan Vollmer and Zach Kanaly each grabbed a goal and an assist as the Green Rockets blanked the Eagles (0-13-1, 0-12) in an NAC West game at Morristown.

Jake VanArnam and Devin Dulmage added goals for Morristown (9-3).

GIRLS SOCCER

HERMON-DEKALB 5, EDWARDS-KNOX 1

Rhys Bryant and Brooke Woodrow each tallied a pair of goals as the Demons defeated the Cougars in an NAC West game at DeKalb Junction.

Kasey O’Donnell added a goal and Chelsey MacKay registered three saves (9-4-1, 9-4).

MaKenzie Frary generated a goal for Edwards-Knox (4-9).

TUPPER LAKE 2, ST. REGIS FALLS 0

Lizzie Zurek and Lindsay Maroun each scored as the Lumberjacks (6-8-1, 6-6-1) won an NAC East game at Tupper Lake. Sarah Brockway was credited with 26 saves for St. Regis Falls (0-13, 0-11).

VOLLEYBALL

MALONE 3, SALMON RIVER 1

Whitney Legacy provided 14 kills and six service points to help the Huskies overcome the loss of two key players and defeat the Shamrocks, 25-18, 25-19, 14-25, 25-15, in Fort Covington.

Malone improved to 12-1 overall with a matchup against unbeaten Chateaugay scheduled for Tuesday.

Salmon River dropped to 8-8.

GIRLS SWIMMING

SALMON RIVER 82, EDWARDS-KNOX 78

The Shamrocks used their depth to defeat the Cougars (2-6) in a Northern Athletic Conference meet in Russell.

Salmon River (2-6) finished first in just five of the 11 events.
