ASSAULT - MASSENA - Village police charged Cesar A. Rodriguez, 19, of 483 Lacombe Road, Massena, with third-degree assault at 8:58 p.m. Saturday after he was picked up on East Orvis Street. Police said the charge stemmed from an incident on Sept. 16 at the Delmar Tavern when he reportedly punched John W. Holmes, 22, of Massena. Holmes told police he went to confront a man who was yelling at a couple of females when he was reportedly punched in the side of the face from behind by Rodriguez. Holmes reportedly suffered a broken jaw.



BENCH WARRANT - MASSENA - Village police said Rockne R. Cox, 30, of 158 Tuper Road, Brushton, on a bench warrant for failure to appear in court as directed at 8:15 p.m. Saturday. He was arraigned by Massena Village Justice Eric J. Gustafson and released to reappear Tuesday in village court.



INADEQUATE PLATE LAMPS - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Lawrence M. Baker, 50, of Route 37, Hogansburg, for operation of a vehicle with inadequate headlights and operation of an uninspected motor vehicle at 7:58 p.m. Saturday following a traffic stop on Main Street.



NO SEATBELT - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Steven J. Phillips, 33, of Woodlawn Avenue, Massena, for failure to wear his seatbelt at 2:32 p.m. Saturday following a traffic stop on East Orvis Street.



SPEEDING - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Raymond S. Elliott, 26, of Henderson for speed in zone at 12:47 p.m. Saturday following a traffic stop on Route 37.



STOP SIGN - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Joseph Mazzola, 47, of Main Street, Massena, for a stop sign violation at 10:59 a.m. Saturday following a traffic stop on Parker Avenue near Alvern.
