The funeral service for Dolores M. Ogren will be Wednesday, October 9th, at 10am at the Life Church of the Nazarene, 535 Thompson Blvd., Watertown, with Rev. Chad Clardie officiating. Burial will follow the service in Brookside Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday, October 8th from 4 pm-7 pm at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home. Contributions may be made to the Life Church of the Nazarene, 535 Thompson Blvd., Watertown, NY 13601.

Mrs. Ogren, 84, Butterfield Ave., Watertown, passed away October 5th at University Hospital in Syracuse where she was admitted September 30th.

Born in Elgin, Ill on May 8, 1929, she was a daughter to Otto and Dorothy Richards Svendsen. She was educated in Elgin, IL. Dolores moved to Norway in 1948 to live for one year with family. She met Henry “Hank” Ogren, who was also in Norway visiting family, on the ship returning to the United States. They married September 2, 1950 in Elgin, IL.

Dolores was a telephone operator in Illinois for several years. Mr. and Mrs. Ogren moved to Watertown in 1962. Mrs. Ogren worked at the Plaza Sports Center in the Washington St. Plaza for over 20 years.

Dolores was an active member of the First Church of the Nazarene. She was an active and charter member of the Christian Women’s Club (now called Women’s Connection). She enjoyed skiing and baking.

Surviving besides her husband of 63 years , Henry “Hank”, are a daughter and son-in-law, Linda (Mark) Pierkarski, TN; a son and daughter-in-law, Eric (Tracy) Ogren, Hamilton; 2 granddaughters, Whitney (Bryan) McCracken, Janelle (Todd) Fowlston; 2 great-grandchildren, Miles Fowlston, Lena McCracken; a sister and brother-in-law, Shirley (Marvin) Peterson, Gig Harbor, WA. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are with Reed & Benoit Funeral Home, Watertown.
