Watertown police are investigating the death of a 7-month-old girl who died Wednesday after being brought to the hospital for a medical emergency three days earlier.
Detective Sgt. Joseph R. Donoghue said police and the Jefferson County Department of Social Services Child Protective Unit are involved in the ongoing investigation into the death of Zoey Ryor at Upstate Medical University, Syracuse.
Mr. Donoghue declined to characterize the cause of the babys death, but said the infant was taken to Samaritan Medical Center from the familys Davidson Street home and then transferred to Syracuse.
The Onondaga County medical examiners office also is looking into the death, which is not uncommon, Mr. Donoghue said.
The Jefferson County district attorneys office also has been contacted, he said.
No other was information about the investigation was available.
According to Times records, Zoey Grace Ryor was born Feb. 12 to Tanya Forkell and Travis Ryor.
