Motorists accused of drunken driving

The following were charged with driving while intoxicated and associated charges:

n Trevor J. Dodd, 25, of 717 Hamilton St., Ogdensburg, was charged by state police with aggravated DWI early Sunday on Paterson Street in Ogdensburg, where he was pulled over for having a loud exhaust system. His blood alcohol content was listed as 0.19 percent.

A BAC of 0.08 percent or more is considered proof of intoxication under state law. Aggravated DWI is charged when the BAC is 0.18 percent or more.

n Nicholas D. Simmons, 1 Barker Road, Antwerp, was charged by Gouverneur village police early Sunday. Police said Mr. Simmons was driving around the traffic island the wrong way on East Main Street in Gouverneur. His BAC was listed as 0.13 percent.

n Eric S. Caldwell, 42, Edgewood, Md., was charged by Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies at 2:15 a.m. Sunday on Route 11 in the town of Pamelia. Police said his vehicle was halted after it was observed driving along the shoulder of the road for about 30 yards.

It is alleged that his BAC was 0.17 percent. He also was charged with driving on the shoulder and will answer the charges in Pamelia Town Court.

n Justin C. Martin, 27, of 28238 Cardinal Lane, was charged by Watertown police at 2:54 a.m. Friday on Public Square. Police said his BAC was 0.16 percent.

He also was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and third-degree criminal mischief.

The mischief charge stemmed from an allegation that he punched and shattered a window at 99 Public Square, causing glass to fall on and damage a bicycle on display in the window. Police said the incident caused an estimated $1,400 in total damage. He is due to answer the charges in City Court.

n Jason A. Lallier, 31, of 24801 Stadler Road, Calcium, was charged by Watertown police at 3:24 a.m. Sunday in the 700 block of Arsenal Street. Police said his BAC was 0.12 percent. He also was charged with failure to signal a turn and is due to answer the charges in City Court.

n Troy D. Hillman, 25, Fort Drum, was charged by state police at 2:35 a.m. Sunday on Route 11 in the town of Pamelia. He also was charged with speeding. Further information was not available.
