CARTHAGE Gabbee Park and Claire Sauter each claimed two races and contributed to a winning relay to help fuel the Carthage girls swimming team to a 94-89 Frontier League interdivision victory over Thousand Islands on Tuesday.
Park captured the 200-yard individual medley and 100 backstroke, and Sauter took the 50 free and 100 butterfly. Kendra Bates (100 breaststroke) and Alyssa Kamide (200 free) added victories for Carthage (4-3).
Darien Frederick won the diving while tying a school-record score of 225.30 points for Thousand Islands (3-4). She also swam on two first-place relays.
SOUTH JEFFERSON 97, SOUTH LEWIS 76
Hannah Markey won the 50 and 100 freestyles and swam on two first-place relays during the Spartans interdivision victory over the Falcons at Adams.
Anna Docteur claimed the 200 and 500 free and contributed to a pair of relay victories for South Jefferson (6-1, 5-1).
Mia Poste captured the diving, and Chloe Stinebrickner the 200 IM for South Lewis (0-8, 0-7).
WATERTOWN 98, BEAVER RIVER 71
Eighth-grader Brooke Peters captured the 100 and 200 freestyles and contributed to a pair of fastest relays to help power the host Cyclones to an interdivision victory.
Victoria Olsen claimed the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke, and Julia Marilley took the 200 IM and 500 free. Both swam on a winning relay for Watertown (7-1, 7-0).
Beaver River is 1-6.
IHC 2, GENERAL BROWN 0
Ashley Wood and Lauren Chamberlain each scored second-half goals to give the Cavaliers a FL crossover win against the Lions in Dexter.
Skylar Short made fives saves for Immaculate Heart Central (3-5-2, 3-4-1). Chelsea VanTassel stopped 11 shots for General Brown (0-10-0).
THOUSAND ISLANDS 2, SACKETS HARBOR 0
Autumn Clement recorded one goal and one assist as the Vikings earned a crossover win at Sackets Harbor.
Clement assisted on Katelyn Docteurs goal in the fourth minute, then added an in insurance goal later for Thousand Islands (8-2). Aliceson Cornaire made eight saves to record the shutout. Sackets Harbor dropped to 8-7.
SOUTH LEWIS 1, LaFARGEVILLE 0
Jenna Rogers scored from Jaedyn Ossont in the 67th minute to give the Falcons a crossover win at LaFargeville (1-8).
Miranda Rys made four saves for South Lewis(3-5-1).
ALEXANDRIA 1, BEAVER RIVER 1
Emma Kearns converted a penalty kick with 3 minutes, 28 seconds left in regulation to the help the Purple Ghosts forge a crossover tie with the Beavers in Alexandria Bay.
Morgan Weaver stopped 10 shots for Alexandria (2-6-1).
Raegan Becker scored on a penalty kick, and Mariah Abel made six saves for Beaver River (5-3-2).
SANDY CREEK 3, LYME 0
Katie Austin finished with two goals and an assist to spark the Comets over the Indians (6-3-1) to a crossover victory at Sandy Creek.
Autumn Darling also scored, and McKenna Guarasce recorded 15 saves for Sandy Creek (5-4-1).
COPENHAGEN 9, BELLEVILLE HENDERSON 0
The Golden Knights rolled to their 10th straight win during a D Division game at Belleville.
Claire Stackel led Copenhagen (10-0) with four goals and two assists. Alexandria Greene contributed two goals and one assist, Maci Spaulding had two goals and Brooke Spaulding recorded a goal and one assist.
Mackenzie Wheeler stopped all five shots to earn the shutout.
BOYS CROSS COUNTRY
ANDERSON LEADS CARTHAGE
Nick Anderson finished first in 17:28, nearly a minute ahead of the competition, to lead Carthage to a sweep of Sandy Creek (19-40) and South Jefferson (26-31) in a Frontier League tri-meet at Sandy Creeks 5K course.
South Jefferson captured a 22-35 victory over Sandy Creek.
Isaac Arroyo placed third and Brock Avice took sixth for Carthage (2-0).
Nate Tyler claimed second for South Jefferson (3-2), while Troi Wall finished fourth for Sandy Creek (0-4).
DURGAN, OSTRUM CARRY FALCONS
South Lewis runners Dylan Durgan and Leif Ostrum were separated by three-tenths of a second in leading the Falcons to victories over Watertown (20-35) and Indian River (22-33) at Watertown High Schools 5K course.
The Warriors beat the Cyclones, 23-33.
Durgan placed first with a time of 18:16.1 and Ostrum was second with a time of 18:16.4 for South Lewis (3-1). Ryan Teal and Caleb Rubar placed fourth and sixth, respectively.
Austin Millisor was Indian Rivers top finisher, taking third.
James Lamson finished fifth to lead Watertown (0-4).
GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY
PASTOR PACES SPARTANS
Skylar Pastor placed first with a time of 19:45, and was followed by three of her teammates as South Jefferson captured FL victories over Carthage (15-46) and Sandy Creek (16-45) at Sandy Creeks 5K course.
Sandy Creek defeated Carthage, 23-36.
Jackie Miller, Amanda Lloyd and Ellie Brooks finished second through fourth for the Spartans (4-1).
Freya Sergis placed fifth for Sandy Creek (1-3).
Allie Rios and Lexi Smith placed eighth and ninth, respectively, to pace Carthage (0-2).
FALCONS TAKE TOP FIVE, SWEEP
South Lewis runners captured each of the top five spots, led by Christina Platt, and the Falcons posted a perfect score in victories over Indian River (15-43) and Watertown (15-47) at Watertown High Schools 5K course.
The Warriors won over the Cyclones, 22-38.
Platt was followed by Gaelyn Bronson, Sierra Corbett, Kayla Cavanaugh and Morgan Byrd for South Lewis (2-2).
Hazel Elias-Diaz and Lydia Torres captured seventh and eighth, respectively, to lead Indian River (1-2).
Christina Miller finished sixth for Watertown (0-4).
