PARISHVILLE - The Parishville-Hopkinton varsity boys soccer team settled for a 1-1 tie at home with Chateaugay in an NAC East Division matchup on Tuesday.
After a scoreless first half, the Panthers broke through for the first goal 26 minutes into the second when Ryan Snyder converted from Anthony Pullano but the Bulldogs countered less than three minutes when Young struck from Martin.
Kobe Wells stopped seven shots for P-H (7-1-2, 4-1-2) while Justin Trombley made six saves for Chateaugay (6-1-1, 5-1-1).
The Panthers will now get set to play at Madrid-Waddington Friday starting at 4:30 p.m.
In the other East Division varsity boys soccer matchups on Tuesday, Madrid-Waddington blanked Norwood-Norfolk 2-0, Colton-Pierrepont stopped St. Lawrence Central 2-0 and St. Regis Falls edged Brushton-Moira 2-1 in overtime.
M-W 2, N-N 0: In Norfolk, Kaden Pickering scored both goals as the Yellowjackets relayed a 2-0 halftime lead into the win to remain unbeaten atop the East Division standings at 8-0. Pickering netted the eventual game-winner in the 15th minute off an assist from Jeff Mott then struck for the insurance goal nine minutes later assisted by Aaron Armstrong.
TJ Gagnon fielded three saves working the crease for the shutout while Garrett Waite made eight stops for the Flyers (3-5, 2-3).
C-P 2, SLC 0: In Brasher Falls, Noah Whalen stepped up to lead the visiting Colts with two second-half goals, the first in the 12th minute off an assist from Riley Doyle and the second set up by Jon Porter with less than eight minutes left in regulation.
Bruce Avery had 13 saves to earn the shutout as the Colts moved to 2-6-2 overall and 2-4-2 in the East. Hadyn St. Hilaire turned aside 21 shots for the Larries (1-6-1, 1-5-1).
SRF 2, B-M 1 (2OT): At St. Regis Falls, Louis Goodrow connected from Ryan Duquette with less than five minutes left in the second 10-minute overtime to lift the Saints (3-3-1) past the Panthers (0-5-1).
Brandon Votra opened the scoring for SRF five minutes into the second half assisted by Goodrow before Alex Burnett tied the game with less than five minutes left in regulation assisted by Adam Martin.
Mike Smith stood tall making 17 saves tending the Saints goal while Taylor Tallman handled seven shots for B-M.
In the only NAC varsity girls soccer matchup on Tuesday, Madrid-Waddington (3-6-1, 2-5) made a quick recovery from a loss the day before to Parishville-Hopkinton by posting a 1-0 East Division decision at home over Colton-Pierrrepont.
Desiree Pryce netted the only goal of the game in the 18th minute of the first half assisted by Mary Young and Ariana Ramsey stopped the four shots she faced in backstopping the shutout.
Kathryn Miller had 11 saves for the Lady Colts (3-6, 2-5).
