Massena places 1-2 in 400 Relay To Dip OFA

The Massena Girls Swimming team posted a 1-2 in the 400 relay on the final race of the day to claim an exciting 88-82 win at OFA on Friday. Massena used a win by Courtnee Stowell, Emma O’Connell, Taylor Brault, and Sydney Lewis in the 400 Relay in 4:25.04 and a second place finish from Alison Dix, Kalie Peets, Makenzie LaBrake, and Joslyn Bogdan to deny OFA which led 80-76.

“It was a very close meet. I really didn’t expect it this close but we did very, very well,” said OFA coach Ben Fleahman after his Devils produced a 2013 best time by the 200 IM team, two personal bests from Chelsea Montroy (200, 100 Fs) and one from Natalie Perrigo (200IM).

Earning first place individual efforts were: Chelsea Montroy in the 200 Free in 2:21.94 (PB), Natalie Perrigo in the 200 IM in 2:37.71 (PB) and 100 Breasstroke, Julia Mullin in the 100 Fly, and Susie Morrow in the 100 Free and 100 Back.The Devils also earned wins in the 200 Medley Relay as Morrow, Perrigo, Madi Bresset and Mullin finished with an NAC season best time of 2:08.73. Mullin, Montroy, Hunter Shaver and Morrow placed first in the 200 Relay.

For Massena, Baylee Carroll won the 50 Free and Emma O’Connell took the 500 Free while O’Connell (200 Free), Carroll (100 Free), Lewis (500 Free), Dix (100 Back), Elman (100 Breast) placed second.
