MADRID - A two-vehicle crash at a four corner intersection involving a group of Canadian scouts in Madrid left a vehicle on its side and no one injured Friday afternoon.
The 2:20 p.m. crash was the result of a low speed collision at the intersection, according to Madrid Volunteer Rescue Squad Chief Richard McDougall.
Canton-based state police said the vehicles were operated by Daniel R. Gates, 52, of Ottawa, Ont., and Noah H. Dupray, 17, of Waddington.
It appeared the Canadian vehicle struck the passenger side of the pickup, which was occupied by two teens from the Madrid-Waddington area, Chief McDougall said.
The five occupants of the other vehicle were Canadian Scouts traveling from Ottawa to Lake Placid for a weekend of rock climbing, the chief said.
The crash happened at the intersection of County Route 14 and Outer Elm Street. No injuries were reported and no one was transported to the hospital, Chief McDougall said. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
State police and Madrid Volunteer Fire Department assisted.
