PLATTSBURGH — Diana DiCocco scored two goals to lead the SUNY Plattsburgh women’s soccer team to a 4-0 victory over Clarkson in a nonconference game Tuesday night.

Emily LaLone and Vicky Scott also scored for the Cardinals (2-5-1 overall). Cammey Keyser assisted on the first two goals and Ashley Pagano assisted on the final two.

Kristy Kirkpatrick made one save to shut out Clarkson (3-5).

REILLY LEADS CANTON GOLFERS

Senior Mike Reilly (Colton, NY) fired a 4-over par 76 to place second individually Tuesday at the Elmira College Fall Invitational. The SUNY Canton men’s golf team finished with a score of 336 to tie the Elmira College B team for fifth place out of the nine-team field.

The host Elmira College A team finished first overall with a round of 314. SUNY Delhi’s A and B teams finished in second (318) and third (329). Meanwhile, Oswego State rounded out the top five finishing in fourth place with 331 strokes. Reilly led the Roos for the second straight outing with his performance on Tuesday. Zach Meade (Tupper Lake, NY) carded a round of 81 to finish alone in 13th place. Nate Christy (Canton, NY) tied for 30th tallying an 89, while Nolan Reid (Champlain, NY) and David Parker (Canton, NY) finished in a tie for 34th with scores of 90.

The men’s golf team returns to their home course on Friday when they host the SUNY Canton Invitational at Partridge Run Golf and Country Club. Players will tee of beginning at 1:00 p.m.

LAUZON HONORED

Former Salmon River standout Tom Lauzon (Bombay, NY) of the SUNY Canton men’s cross country team has been honored as United States College Athletic Association (USCAA) Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week, as announced on Tuesday.

Lauzon paced SUNY Canton to a first place finish at the Johnson State Invitational as he recorded a third place showing individually. He covered the 8-kilometer course in 30:26, his fastest time over that distance as a Roo. This was the first time the Kangaroos won a team title this season and the fifth team title in program history.

The men’s cross country team and Lauzon are back in action Saturday when they travel to Utica, NY to take part in the SUNY Institute of Technology Wildcat Invitational. The men’s race begins at noon.
