Adopting Healthy Habits, a program of local Cornell Cooperative Extension offices, has received support from the Northern New York Community Foundation to offer area businesses, groups, community leaders and organizations a chance to apply for mini-grants to improve the overall health of the community.
A total of $9,000 has been made available to fund five to 15 small grants to various local organizations that promote healthy lifestyles in Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence counties. Grant applicants are encouraged to create policies, practices and environments to increase access to healthy living options for local families.
Applications must be received by Oct. 11; notification of funding will take place by Jan. 10. For more information, call Amanda Root at 788-8450.
